The Power of Pressing Forward

Greetings Ladies & Gents,

I hope you're all doing well and feeling good. I know, I know. It has been quite a bit of time since I last spoke to you all, but don't be too mad at me. I decided to take some time to focus on my self growth and personal goals. The months away did in fact pay off, but I'm back again and ready to get back to the great conversations! With that said, let's not waste any more time and dive into today's topic of choice.

It's the end of 2019 and it feels like we were just wrapping up 2018. The popular convo to have at this time of the year revolves around resolutions, but I'm going to take this post a different route. How many Januarys have you said you're going to do certain things differently in your life but it never happened? A lot right? Yea, same here. That kind of annual issue affects the best of us and can play a big role in holding our overall growth back. So what's the reason for it? Well, I'm glad you asked that question.

Let's have an honest and transparent discussion together. We spend so many days talking about how we're going to get our lives right. Whether it be no longer wasting money on certain purchases or not giving specific folks any more of our energy...it's the same old story every New Year. Those are dope goals to have, but where things get funky is when we let those outside forces impact the promises that we just made. You know what I'm talking about too.

That one person you swore you were going to cut off 3 and a half years ago has just resurfaced again for the 4th time in 6 months. You don't know how to act. Keep in mind that they've lied to you, called you out of your name and simply disrespected you in ways that should be rewarded with nothing less than a blocked number. Yet here we are...another year...because "when we're good, we're good." Ok that's wonderful, but how long does this level of good realistically last? Do you experience being the best version of yourself when they're present in your world? If not, then I'm here to tell you that this is one of the main reasons you're not seeing the desired amount of progress in your life.

It may seem like a small factor in the big picture of things, but imagine the strides you could be making in your personal life with all that time you'd get back not dealing with the fools. Removing the toxins from your world such as inconsistent people could put you in a place that allows for blessings to come in. How are you gonna have a metaphorical house full of bums and expect there to be room for the good to come in when the good comes knocking? We do all this talk and social media posts about wishing things would go better in our respective lives, but the sad truth is that many times we're holding our own selves back.

Just imagine how much better and stress free your days could be if you kept that same energy you talk/post about and let things go. It can be one of the toughest things to do...looking in the mirror and being real about the areas in which we fall short. But even taking this action is a form of development that can't be overlooked and will place you in a better space. So let's take a break from thinking about resolutions lists and keep things simple going into 2020. I ask you to permanently remove those problem people, press forward and please do not look back. It's a reason why these things ended up in the rearview to begin with. Have an excellent start to your New Year!
